Ok. I’ll be the first to admit that I’v never been one to curl my lases regularly. Despite my knowledge of how it can enhance your look. But as of a couple of months ago I started curling them regularly and now I couldn’t imagine not. It does so much four your eyes without having to apply any makeup. So today I thought I’d Tell you everything you need to know about lash curling.
THE CURLER… There are tons of eyelash curlers sold on the market. Ranging from a dollar to thirty and beyond. To be honest I don”t really think the price reflects the quality in this case.Granted brands like Shu- Uemura and tarte make some of the best. You can still find some great ones for very reasonable prices. So here is a basic list of a few I love in various prices ranging from low to high. ELF. Revlon. Trim. Sally Hansen. Tweezerman. Tarte..Urban decay Shu Uemura.
WHY CURL EM… Well its pretty simple really. Curling your lashes lifts the lashes upward and therefore opens up the eye giving them a bigger bright-eyed awake look. And It makes your lashes more visible whether you are wearing mascara or not. It makes a drastic difference in your overall look.
HOW TO CURL EM… Before applying mascara. Take the eyelash curler and set it at the roots of the lashes. Gently squeeze and hold for three seconds. Then move up the lashes curling the middle and ends of the lashes for three seconds each Don’t squeeze too tightly as it will create a crimp rather than a curl and NEVER HEAT A METAL CURLER. Then apply mascara as usual. For the longest lasting results; apply a curling mascara.
KEEP IT CLEAN… To keep curler clean and ward off germs. Clean curler twice a month with rubbing alcohol.
So despite all this info it only takes about thirty seconds to curl both eyes. Its a small step that makes a huge difference.

This is the NYX extreme cream in candy land, and L’Oreal color Riche legloss in pucker up. The NYX is a nice medium pink but absolutely love this extreme lip Cream formula. The lipgloss is a beautiful kind of sheer pink with lots of shimmer.
And they look absolutely beautiful together. I’ve been wearing this for over a week straight

Hey guys. Long time no blog post… Sorry about that. I’ve had tons happening in my life at the moment and haven’t been able to find the time to post anything lately. Anyway… I thought i’d Start the week off with a fun tag. I found this on beautybroadcast.net She is one of my favorite beauty bloggers and if you’re not familiar with her then you should check her out. Alright here is the tag. I hope you enjoy.
1. Name a beauty regime you rarely do.
Well I pretty much never blow dry my hair because it is curly and the heat makes it frizz up like nobody’s business. But for some reason it will air dry really fast. So I just comb it out when it’s wet and run some product through it and air dry it.
2. Is washing your makeup brushes something you do regularly?
I try to wash them regularly. About twice a week I will just take a handful into the bathroom and wash them with baby shampoo. So all of them end up with a good washing at least once every couple of weeks. Foundation brush gets cleaned twice a week.
3. How long will you last with chipped nail polish?
Minor chips I’ll let go a couple of days. Very bad and I can’t stand it.
4. How long will you put off buying/replacing a beauty product. Even if you need it?
Well… I consider myself a makeup addict and I’m not ashamed to admit it. And I love trying the latest products. So instead of thinking I need a new mascara. I think…I only have five left. OH… Time to go shopping Needless to say I don’t ever put off buying beauty products. lol.
5. What is your worst beauty habit.
One thing I think of every time I do my makeup. I need to take more time to comb out my eyelashes after applying mascara. I’m usually in a hurry so by the time I get to this step I rush through it. I would like to make it a habit to take the time to make sure they look great. There just isn’t enough time in a day. I’m sure I could think of something else but that’s all I got for now.
6. Name something non-beauty related you put off doing all the time.
Organizing my closet.
7. When going somewhere, do you leave getting ready for the last-minute?
Actually no. I usually get ready first and finish everything else I need to do before I leave.
8. Can you commit to no-buys?
Heck no. I’ve tried. it doesn’t last long. However I will limit my spending. That’s not so bad right.
9. How organized is your makeup and nail polish collection?
Very. Having bad vision requires me to remember where everything is. I can also remember every brand, name and color of every product I own without reading the label. Mainly because I usually cant see the tiny writing. But putting that aside I can’t stand for my makeup to be messy.
I hope you enjoyed reading. This tag actually got me thinking about a few things. and NO a a no-buy isn’t one of them. That’s just crazy.
Hey everyone. Hope you are all having a great week so far. Do you know when to throw your makeup out or how to tell when its gone bad? I know that no one wants to trash something they paid good money for. Especially if it was expensive. However continuing to use expired cosmetics can cause some issues that no one wants to deal with. So here is a standard list you can use for reference. but there are other cues you can pay attention to on your own.
1. When you first buy a product. pay attention to its color, texture, and smell. If you notice a change in any of these and you think you have had it a while it’s probably a good idea to toss it.
2. Toss anything you cant remember buying.
3. When lip products go bad they usually have a sickening sweet plastic-ish smell.
4. If you have very oily skin, powder products can build up a layer of oil on top. I know it’s gross. That’s why it needs to go in the garbage.
5. if the color changes or it starts to separate.
6. Keep in mind … If you bought it but haven’t used it much it might sill be good after the expiration date.
7. On the back of most makeup products will be a little picture of a trash can with the number of months inside of it. Its how many months before you need to throw it away. It looks like this…
Concealer Up to 12 months.
Powder 2 years.
Cream & gel cleansers 1 year.
Pencil eye liner Should be sharpened regularly. Will last up to 3 years.
Eyeshadow Will last up to 3 years.
Sponges Wash weekly and discard monthly. ( beauty blender are excluded. follow their instructions )
Foundation 1 to 2 years
Lip liner Up to 3 years.
Lipstick 1 to 3 years.
Mascara This product expires the fastest: Throw out after 4 months. Unless you enjoy eye infections. Yikes.
As always thank you all for reading and following my blog. I hope this info was helpful to you.. Have a wonderful day
As much as i’m sure you have heard of the exceptionally popular dry fast topcoat Seche Vite.(sesh veet) You have also probably heard about he controversy surrounding it. So I wanted to clarify what makes it so popular and what is said to be dangerous about it.
BRAND CLAIMS–Seche Vite, it’s an amazing thing. When you apply it to your nail color it penetrates all the way down to the nail bed to create a bond so strong that you can truly forget about your nail color chipping or peeling. This is as good as it gets.
My experience with this product have been pretty true to it’s claims. It goes on and dries like a sheet of glass and it will completely smooth out any roughness that may have occurred with your polish. It is one of the smoothest and shiniest topcoat i’v used.
THE PROBLEM lies in what makes it so smooth.
THE BOTTLE HAS A WARNING LABEL THAT STATES… “WARNING! This product contains a chemical known to cause birth defects or other reproductive harm.”
The chemical is called TOLUENE…, is a clear, water-insoluble liquid with the typical smell of paint thinners. Sounds pretty bad doesn’t it… furthermore Inhalation of toluene in low to moderate levels can cause tiredness, confusion, weakness, drunken-type actions, memory loss, nausea, loss of appetite, and hearing and color vision loss. These symptoms usually disappear when exposure is stopped. Inhaling high levels of toluene in a short time may cause light-headedness, nausea, or sleepiness. It can also cause unconsciousness, and even DEATH.
IN ADDITION TO IT BEING USED IN SOME NAIL POLISHES (most of which are not currently sold on the market) TOLUENE IS ALSO USED FOR COOLANT, FUEL, CEMENT AND MORE…
I did decide to purchase it out of curiosity and the outstanding claims made about it. However when I used it filled my room with this extremely strong chemical smell. When i did use it i wound have to open a window and paint one nail at a time with time in between to allow the smell to air out. So I will not be using it any longer. There are many outstanding topcoats on the market that wont put my health at risk. IT’S NOT WORTH IT!
THANK YOU FOR READING AND I HOPE YOU FOUND THIS INFORMATION HELPFUL.
